Hello 👋!

My name is Lucio Anderlini and I am Senior Researcher at the INFN Florence Unit 💫 and Professor at the University of Florence 🎓.

My research interests are rooted in Fundamental Physics and in particular Flavour Physics, a branch of Particle Physics focusing on the heaviest quarks, their compounds and their interactions.

As a member of the LHCb Collaboration, I work at the intersection of High-Energy Physics data analysis and experimental instrumentation.

I believe that the next major breakthroughs in our understanding of the Universe will depend on fundamental technological leaps in experimental design.

Hence, I am deeply involved in technological research for future experiments and in particular:

  • 💎 in the research of tracking sensors made from diamond specimens via a technique named laser-induced graphitization;
  • 🤖 in the study of Deep Learning and Cloud technologies intended as enablers for software and computing solutions for future experiments;
  • 🔭 in the development of the future tracking system, capable of measuring with unprecedented accuracy both the position and the timing of the traversing particles, enabling tracking in four dimensions.

These activities are conducted with several research groups and initiatives in Italy and Europe, and in particular:
